Physicians Professional Indemnity Association and the Missouri State Medical Association Insurance Agency (MSMAIA) are pleased to have reached an agreement that means MSMAIA will continue to represent and market PPIA professional liability insurance for Missouri physicians.
The contract between PPIA and MSMAIA had been cancelled in 2008, resulting in MSMAIA’s inability to serve as a producer for PPIA for new members and limiting the agency’s renewal options. The cancellation also limited the ability of PPIA to reach additional members. The new agreement will provide PPIA a proven producer that provides quality service to Missouri physicians. The agency will offer PPIA products to all Missouri physicians in all specialties.
“PPIA is pleased that PPIA and MSMAIA have resolved the issues that created differences in the past. Both organizations have the same philosophy – improving the medical environment for physicians in Missouri and assuring physicians that they have access to a true physician-owned and operated professional liability company,” said Jonathan Downard, executive vice president. “PPIA looks forward to again working with Tom McNeill and the quality producers and staff of MSMAIA.”
McNeill, chief operating officer of MSMAIA, said the agency is eager to again offer PPIA products to its existing clients, as well as former clients and new prospects.
“I’m delighted to renew this relationship,” McNeill said. “As an original producer for PPIA, we were happy to help build the association, and our new relationship will allow us to continue to grow PPIA.”
